Rupert, the Red-faced Publisher

You know Sulzberger and Hearst, and Gannett and Greeley,
Scripps and Cox, Pulitzer and McClatchy.
But do you recall?
The most infamous publisher of all?

Well sing along folks, with this updated Christmas favorite ......

Rupert, the red-faced publisher
had a very shiny face.
And if you ever saw him,
clearly you would see disgrace.

All of the other publishers
laugh and love to call him names.
They’ll never let poor Rupert
forget his evil snooping games.

Then one sultry summer’s Eve
The PM came to say:
"Rupert with your face so bright,
why’d you hack those phones that night?"

Now all the readers loath him
and they shout it out with glee:
“Rupert the red-faced publisher,
you'll go down in history!”

Got an idea for another verse?  :)

Um no I don't. I think it's perfect just the way it is. If you add to it you might ruin it. lol Nice

Classic! Maybe something about being pie faced?

As a side note that's totally related...when they were talking about the incident on the news here last night they said "watch as the man comes to hit him in the face with the shaving foam pie and his much younger wife jumps in to save him" Because clearly its the fact that his wife is "much younger" that's the real attraction of the story.

I love this song. I want a verse about his dragon lady wife too, though.

LOL. I have to get online more often. I haven't a clue what it's about, but it sounds like someone deserved a pie in the face. Very clever lyrics.

I am afraid my additions would have too many
mean or earthy words in it to be publishable.
