The Turner Classic Movie Cruise

Last December, we traveled with Turner Classic Movies on their first Classic Cruise. What fun! Here's one of several stories I wrote about the trip.

In addition to Robert and Ben, we were able to interview and photograph Ernie Borgnine, Eva Marie Saint, Tippi Hedren, as well as many passengers. So if you like old movies and cruises, keep an eye out for another cruise which will be announced at tcm.com.

I've only done two cruises--the first was to Mexico and a party cruise. The second a long distant trans-Atlantic that stopped by Iceland and Greenland, etc, I enjoyed the last one because everyone was interested where we were going and in intellectual pursuits. This cruise sounds interesting.

I really enjoyed the article Nick. How much fun. I think it would be grand to spend time with these actors that were actually actors and artists. I am 41 but I love older movies and the folks from a time when movies were an adventure for all.

Hey Nick, thanks for dropping by my post today.
I spend Friday nights with my father and we watch Turner Classics. So when I saw this on your post I was glued. My Dad is a little older than these stars by maybe 5 or 6 years but he remembers them all and fills in the 'gaps' for me.
What an experience for you to be there and 'record' this. You did a great job!

I love old movies. Actually, I prefer them to most of what comes out "new". They had "style" in a lot of cases.

I am deathly afraid of water so I don't think a cruise would work for me. I even hate to shower. (Plus, I can't swim.)

I've never heard of such theme for a cruise, I imagine it to be a wonderful way to pass a great week with some like-minded people!

My idea of a cruise with a movie theme is to saunter into the living room in my flannel pjs and watch an old flick I rented snuggled up with my sweetie; accompanied, of course, with a bottle of champagne, and a bowl of hot buttered popcorn. That's my idea of cruising and schmoozing.
