Christmas and the Fiscal Cliff Mess

I usually leave poetry to the poets, but this fiscal cliff stuff at Christmas was irresistible If you can stand more verses, they are here. Also mentioned in the WSJ.

'Twas the night before Cliff Mess, and throughout the land,
Democrats, Republicans were taking a stand.
Their positions unwavering, intractably firm,
With donkey-like stubbornness or entrenched pachyderm.

But the public were hopeful all snug in their beds,
With visions of compromise alive in their heads.
“Come on!” said the people in frustrated dismay.
“Abandon this meaningless partisan fray”.........

sometimes, when we are confronted with something that is disturbing, someone comes along and finds a way to help us smile and giggle a little, in spite of the cliff looming ahead!!!

Oh how funny! You know, the two parties could balance the budget by simply STOP wasting our money on everything coming down the pike. What we, the American people, need are good old American coupon clipping housewives who know how to feed a family of 5 for pennies a week to bring everything together! Those boys (and girls) in Washington don't have a clue how to do it. Great 'C' post. Thanks for sharing!

I like your "C" post ~~ Did you ever fall off a cliff? I did and landed in a hole and had to spend the night until 'rescuers' came to get me.

We must hope and pray for rescue from all the cliffs our country may be headed for.

Just read this to my husband. And your Mayan post, too! He loved them!

Although I'm not quite as in love with the whole government at this exact moment.

Sigh.
