I Could Care Less

Do you grind your teeth and spit infinitives every time you see or hear someone use the term "I could care less"?

You are not alone.

See story in the Richmond County Daily Journal.

I used to bang on about this too, and then I read that it's supposed to be said in an ironic way, as in "Like I care?"
Unfortunately most people who use it don't have a clue.

I could care less makes me want to kill, and I can't stand Nancy Grace. Thank God I don't have the channel she's on so I won't accidentally come across her stupidity.

Love,
Janie

This one is a puzzler for anyone thinking...but I fear most of us don't think deeply most of the time. :)

I'm just glad we are in March so I don't have to hear "Feb-u-ary" anymore. Don't get me started on people who like to take "pitchers." grind grind.

Hi thanks for coming by and seeing my Orange and Cinnamon. I like your idea of Orange and chocolate you've inspired another photo shoot.
Have a great weekend,

As English is not my mothertongue, I don't know why I should care :)

I must admit that I've never heard anyone say that over here!
I get irritated by peoples' use of *I* and *me* though. Even officials on TV News have been heard to say "Goodnight from David and I"

As a former English teacher and present writer and editor, that's one phrase that makes the hairs on my neck stand up. There's another word that is always misused and that's "irregardless". There is no such word as "irregardless", it's always "regardless".

Mine is skcz@comcast.net

Thanks Nick.

Spot on. "I couldn't care less " is so obviously the correct phrasing, it amazes me when anyone uses the other.

My latest tee shirt says it all--"I'm silently correcting your grammar."

It seems that NO ONE is immune to using bad grammar these days. I hear a lot of congressmen making horrible and embarrassing errors on t.v.

Actually a person could care less than they already do, but yeah, I get your point.

Besides the word irregardless, my other grammar police word is oreintated. Really irks me when people say that or any of the derivatives of the word oriented.

I hadn't really though about it. I guess I would want to know what they care about.

It would be very interesting if there is a Grammar Police.
